Vickie Watters Martin

Director of the International Trade Office of Mississippi

Vickie Watters brings over 25 years of extensive professional experience, encompassing both international and domestic business across the private and government sectors. Currently, she serves as Director of the International Trade Office at the Mississippi Development Authority. Her previous international experience in the private sector includes her role as Export/Project Supervisor for Skytel/MCI WorldCom, based in Jackson, Mississippi.

She is an active board member of several organizations, including the State International Development Organization (SIDO) Board, where she holds one of the two seats representing the Southern region of the United States and the Care at Residence Services (CARS), Inc. Board, Additionally, she serves as the Southeastern United States Canadian Provinces (SEUS-CP) Alliance Coordinator for the State of Mississippi and is a member of the Mississippi Economic Development Council (MEDC).

Vickie is often described by her peers as encouraging, a leader, a mentor, empowering, authentic, and an excellent collaborator. She has a natural ability to forge new connections while nurturing existing relationships. As a facilitator and leader of various groups, Vickie takes magnificent pleasure in providing support and encouragement to others. She frequently addresses issues that resonate with women from diverse backgrounds at conferences and seminars, making her a sought-after public speaker. In recognition of all of her contributions, she was selected by the Mississippi Business Journal as one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women. Vickie Watters holds both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and she is the bride of Cornelius Martin.
